Palmera Express

Vissla presents Palmera Express, a short film by Eddie Obrand
“They rode the cool Northeast trade winds across an ocean to The Island. They ended up in the bed of a plantation-green pickup truck, with a mad tour guide behind the wheel, and thrashing palmeras blowing above them. They rode stubby fishes and sleek shortboards through lurching, spitting sapphire surf. Each guy had a story, from the gonzo writer to the gypsy traveler. It was there on The Island where these eclectic friends converged one extraordinary winter to explore these foreign waters and revel in this dreamy island life… All aboard the Palmera Express.”

Au Chilon – Joan Duru killing it in Hossegor

Joan Duru spends most of his time to travel around the world to follow the tour WQS and try to join the world elite of the WSL World Tour.
With an over-busy schedule, he misses most of the time the best surf sessions in Hossegor, his hometown, in France.
Fortunately, Joan was finally able to enjoy good surf conditions during his winter break at home.
Mixing Paddling and « step off » sessions, Joan was one of the best surfers in the water in tubular and gnarly waves that he loves so much and can’t find on the tour WQS.

La Dolce Vita – Leonardo Fioravanti

Italy isn’t exactly known for generating groundbreaking talent in the surfing world, but in Leonardo Fioravanti they’ve produced just that. Desillusion Magazine’s editor in chief Sebastien Zanella followed Leo from Hawaii to Roma to gain an insight into his remarkable adolescence waiting for ferry waves in a country that didn’t understand.

Comedy gold. Jump rock FAIL! (Hope you are ok Tomo!)

There comes several times in every surfers life when he/she get their arse handed them; happens to even the most experienced.

Jump rocks tend to serve up more than their fair share of comedic episodes funny to all, except the guy involved at the time. Of course in the age of digital media things have got a whole heap worse as your cackling mates can video the whole thing and make you globally famous in a matter of minutes.

Spare a thought for Tomo here who with two comedy falls on a suicidally slippery jump rock at North Point in WA, a near drowning experience and a full cheese grater, is going global.

Tomo, mate. I am sorry I laughed, and I am sorry but I had to post this. But we hope the filmer has monetised this and is going to buy you a beer…Make that a years supply….
